A brief history of Glaston Village Hall
Serving the community for over 100 years, the Hall was commissioned in 1910 by the Reverend Waltham for the benefit of Glaston Parish, the Village Hall has and continues to serve as a community hub, providing a large, well-proportioned room for a myriad of events.
The hall was later placed by the Reverend Waltham with Peterborough Diocesan Trustees in 1922 for the spiritual, intellectual, moral or social wants of parishioners as the PCC may think desirable.
Since 2000, a Village Hall Management Committee has overseen the day to day running of the hall on behalf of the PCC. Their remit is to manage, maintain and develop Glaston Village Hall as a venue for use by the residents of Glaston and its surrounding area, in order to enrich community life through a programme of meetings, classes, and other forms of leisure and social activities.
Over the years it has enjoyed a number of names …
